Amplify Capital / Brand Identity
The MaRS Catalyst Fund was launched in 2016, and was one of the first early stage impact venture funds in Canada. Increasingly, Canadian businesses are being launched with social and environmental missions, and the fund was well positioned to support the growing demand in the marketplace for impact investments. Incubated and supported at the MaRS Discovery District, and due to its success and impressive returns, a second fund was launched independently this year and a new brand and name was needed.
Through a collaborative workshop Design Holmen helped the team at the fund tell their story in a compelling way. Along with a new name, we created a brand strategy, brand identity, web site and print collateral. The new name, Amplify Capital, felt like a sibling to the Catalyst Fund. A custom wordmark and three bands of colour created a system to communicate the fund’s three impact areas: health, education and clean tech.
